Two-Tomoe Sharingan

After hearing the whole story, the Cloud Ninja said with a self-deprecating laugh, "I see. White Fang's kid, huh? Then there's nothing to fear."

With that, the Cloud Ninja used the Hidden Mist Technique again.

Kakashi stood in front of Obito, staring ahead with a grave expression.

"Just as I thought..." Kakashi said warily. "Even his scent has vanished."

"We can only pinpoint him by the faint movement of the air and the sounds it makes."

Obito Uchiha scanned every direction. "Where? Where is he...?"

As Obito Uchiha looked around, the invisible Cloud Ninja

suddenly emerged from the tree trunk beneath Obito Uchiha's feet.

Kakashi noticed something was wrong and immediately rushed toward Obito.

"Obito, watch out! Behind you..." Kakashi cried.

The instant Kakashi's attention wavered, the invisible Cloud Ninja

abandoned Obito and switched his target to Kakashi.

He slashed viciously at Kakashi.

Distracted, Kakashi could not dodge in time. The blade cut straight across his left eye.

Kakashi fell backward hard, clutching his injured eye in agony.

He writhed in pain, crying, "My eye! My eye!"

Obito saw how badly Kakashi's eye had been hurt.

His face filled with worry as he shouted, "Kakashi! Kakashi!"

Kakashi lay on the tree branch, clutching his left eye in pain.

Wracked with guilt, Obito hurried over to support him. "Kakashi, are you all right...?"

The Cloud Ninja who had landed the sneak attack

leaped into hiding and remained invisible, waiting for another opening.

Even if they're just kids, I can't let my guard down, he warned himself.

I'll take this slow and steady.

Kakashi rose to his feet on the branch, covering his left eye as blood streamed from it.

"Don't underestimate him," Kakashi warned Obito.

"He threw away the blood-scented kunai the instant he finished attacking."

"And my left eye is probably done for. We need to stay alert in case he attacks again."

Kakashi looked at the anguish on Obito's face and teased him. "Got dust in your eyes again?"

"Ninjas aren't supposed to cry."

"I'm not dead yet. Don't let your guard down."

Obito removed his goggles and wiped away his tears. All I ever do is talk big.

And I always need everyone else to help me. I'm a dead-last loser who can't back up his words.

Obito Uchiha recalled what he had told Kakashi before they left.

White Fang was a true hero. I'll be the one to break that rule...

Obito Uchiha stood up, determination filling his face. "But those words!"

"I don't want them to be just talk."

The invisible Cloud Ninja lurking in the distance seemed to spot an opening.

He rushed toward Obito from behind.

Gripping his kunai, he lunged at Obito. "Die, brat!"

Obito Uchiha seethed at his own weakness.

Without Obito realizing it, his eyes

turned crimson, and two black tomoe spun into place in each one.

Obito gripped his kunai and whirled around, thrusting it at

the invisible Cloud Ninja charging toward him.

The Cloud Ninja took the full force of Obito's strike. "Why... why?" he demanded bitterly.

"You couldn't possibly have seen me..."

When he saw Obito's Two-Tomoe Sharingan, he gasped in shock. "So you're one too..."

Before he could finish, the invisible Cloud Ninja died at Obito's feet.

He collapsed heavily...

Kakashi stared at the scene in shock. "Obito, you..."

"From now on, it's my turn to protect my comrades," Obito Uchiha declared.

Kakashi stared at Obito's eyes. "Obito, your eyes..."

Obito Uchiha sensed the change in himself too. "Looks like this is the Sharingan of the Uchiha," he replied, at a loss.

"Now I can see how chakra forms and flows."

Coming to his senses, Obito immediately asked Kakashi how badly he was hurt.

Kakashi covered his left eye and forced out a reply through the pain. "I'm fine, Obito."

Kakashi hurriedly took out the medical kit Rin Nohara had given him.

He pulled out some gauze and wrapped it roughly around his left eye...

Kakashi stood and said to Obito, "This isn't the time to worry about that. We need to rescue Rin first."

Obito nodded. "Right..."

Inside a cave formed from piled rocks stood a brown-haired ninja.

He seized Rin Nohara by the hair and hauled her up. "You really are stubborn."

"I've used genjutsu on you so many times, and you still won't give up any information?"

Just as the brown-haired ninja was about to kill Rin Nohara...

Obito and Kakashi appeared across from him.

The brown-haired ninja turned his head and sighed. "What a useless bunch. They couldn't even deal with two kids?"

Kakashi and Obito ignored the brown-haired ninja's grumbling.

Obito used his Two-Tomoe Sharingan to examine Rin Nohara, whose eyes looked vacant.

Then Obito reported to Kakashi, "Rin's chakra flow is a little chaotic."

"She's probably under a genjutsu," Kakashi explained calmly.

"Looks like he wanted to get the information out of her right away."

The brown-haired ninja listened to the two kids' analysis.

A smirk spread across his face. "Looks like you two aren't ordinary kids."

Kakashi quickly took an attacking stance and warned Obito, "I've fought this guy before. He's incredibly fast."

"Be careful!"

"Got it!"

Obito answered casually, then charged alongside Kakashi.

The brown-haired ninja drew his two blades.

Without hesitation, he rushed at Obito and Kakashi, and a fierce battle erupted.

The sharp clashes of his twin blades against Kakashi's Chakra White Blade rang out one after another.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

At last, Kakashi and Obito spotted an opening.

Kakashi raised his Chakra White Blade and brought it down hard on the brown-haired ninja.

The brown-haired ninja took Kakashi's strike head-on.

He dropped to the ground...

Kakashi and Obito rushed to Rin Nohara.

Kakashi formed a hand sign with one hand. "Release."

Rin Nohara's vacant expression vanished instantly.

She blinked in a daze, then came to her senses and looked at the two of them.

"Kakashi... Obito."

"We came to save you, Rin," Obito said gently. "You're safe now."

"We need to get out of here as fast as we can," Kakashi said.

Kakashi quickly untied the ropes binding Rin.

Once the ropes were off,

Kakashi and the others were about to leave when...

the fallen brown-haired ninja suddenly got back to his feet.

"So that's how it is," he said with a nasty grin. "You two kids work pretty well together."

"But you're still in my hands."

"Don't underestimate me, you little brats!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the brown-haired ninja formed hand signs with both hands.

"Earth Style: Earth Dome Collapse!"

After using Earth Style: Earth Dome Collapse, the brown-haired ninja swiftly fled the scene.

Kakashi's eyes widened. "This is bad..."

"Run for the exit, Obito! Rin!"

Kakashi, Obito, and Rin sprinted toward the exit.

As the three ran, a rock suddenly fell from above and struck Kakashi.

He collapsed...

Rin Nohara turned toward him and cried out in panic, "Kakashi!"

Obito Uchiha rushed to Kakashi's side.

But just as he was about to help Kakashi up, he suddenly noticed...
