Zombie Legion!

Dusk deepened, and night drew near.

Bai Xuan walked into the sunset, ready to head home.

Suddenly, a flock of birds swept across the northern sky, catching his eye.

Bai Yu: "How did you know I was north of Ninghang City?"

"Your brother messaging you again?"

Liu Qian blinked, a smile tugging at her lips.

"Of course!"

As she spoke, Bai Yu glanced at the burger and milk tea in Liu Qian's hands and asked, puzzled, "Didn't you used to avoid stuff like that? Why are you eating it now...?"

"Ugh, I've been under so much stress lately." Liu Qian sighed. "Something sweet makes me feel a little better."

She dug a milk candy out of her pocket and offered it to Bai Yu. "Want one?"

"No, thanks..."

Beep, beep, beep, beep—!

Just then, the base alarm blared, shattering the calm.

"What's going on?"

"What happened?"

Both women looked confused.

"Wait here. I'll go check."

Bai Yu rushed out of the room. Police Officers throughout the Military Base were assembling at speed and heading to their assigned positions!

"Quick! They're here!"

"Where are the machine gunners?"

"Defensive artillery, ready!"

"Damn it! Why are there so many?"

"We'll be fine! There are several Investigators here. We'll be fine!"

"We can hold them off!"

Bai Yu frowned and climbed to a vantage point to look into the distance.

Under cover of night, thousands of dark figures surged toward the base like a tide.

How did so many Zombies appear all of a sudden? Alarm shot through her. Ninghang City couldn't have a Zombie horde this big...

"Don't worry."

Huang Xin approached with two Investigators and assured her, "With us here, the base will be fine."

Bai Yu said nothing. She looked around, then asked, "Where is Miss Li Hongyou?"

"She's somewhere inside the base. I don't know exactly where," Huang Xin replied.

"All right..." Bai Yu nodded lightly, though worry still lingered in her eyes.

By then, the Zombie horde had closed to less than a thousand meters from the Military Base.

"Here they come!"

"Fire!"

As the horde drew near, the base's defensive guns opened fire in unison.

Cannon blasts shook the sky!

Every shell landed squarely among the Zombies, wiping out dozens at a time. Blazing walls of fire sprang up wherever they struck.

The few Zombies lucky enough to break through the artillery barrage were cut down by machine-gun fire before they could get close.

A storm of bullets poured out. Vast as the horde was, Zombies fell in swathes under the concentrated fire, leaving shredded flesh strewn across the ground.

"Hahaha! Heavy firepower always gets the job done!"

"They're just Zombies! Nothing to worry about!"

"If it's made of carbon, it can't take a 12.7-millimeter round!"

"Kill them! Wipe them all out!"

Exhilaration spread across the defenders' faces. Ordinary Zombies were no match for guns and artillery. In mere moments, nearly a third of the horde had been destroyed.

Just as the battle seemed decided, several hulking figures burst from the sea of flames and charged straight at the Military Base!

Bullets barely fazed them. Even when shells blew off their limbs, the wounds healed with terrifying speed, and they charged again!

"Damn it! What are those monsters?!"

"Quick! Plug the gap! Don't let them in!"

"They won't die... We can't kill them!"

The Tyrants' sudden appearance tore a hole in the Police Officers' defensive line.

Countless Zombies flooded through the gap and into the Military Base.

The three Investigators hurried to the breached section and soon found themselves locked in battle with several Tyrants.

But from the way the fight was going, they were clearly outmatched.

Seeing this, Bai Yu drew her pistol and prepared to help.

Just then, a figure descended from the sky.

She raised a hand, and the Zombies on the verge of breaking through the line floated into the air.

All three Investigators stared in horror.

They had never imagined Li Hongyou, who had come from White Sea City, was this terrifyingly powerful!

She had torn a Tyrant apart with a wave of her hands!

"Hold the gap. Leave this to me."

Li Hongyou flew forward as she spoke to Huang Xin and the others.

"No problem~ Leave it to us, Miss Li Hongyou!"

Huang Xin answered with a smile.

He had always praised Li Hongyou highly, but even he hadn't expected her to be this strong.

She had torn a Tyrant to pieces with a wave of her hands...

Before his words had faded, Li Hongyou struck again. Two more Tyrants were reduced to pieces in her hands.

Before long, every Zombie that had breached the defensive line had been eliminated.
