"The Sea God's Whip?"
On the other end of the call, Gao Zisheng froze at the name, then burst into even more exaggerated laughter.
"Hahaha! Ouyang Jian, have all those movies rotted your brain? The Sea God's Whip? Why not say you've got the Thunder God's Hammer, too?"
His words dripped with undisguised mockery and contempt.
"Stop bluffing! Let me tell you, even if that rust bucket of yours actually had a weapon like that, would you dare fire it?"
"These are the Dragon Kingdom's waters, and I'm aboard a civilian yacht! Opening fire without orders from your superiors is a serious crime! Can a lousy captain like you shoulder that responsibility?"
"Besides, don't forget that my father is Second Master Jun! Fire on me, and my father will have your whole family killed!"
Gao Zisheng grew louder and more brazen. He was already certain that the other side was merely throwing one last impotent tantrum.
Inside the Sea Dragon's bridge, however, the atmosphere was deadly serious.
The weapons officer sat at his console, his expression focused. His fingers flew across the complex array of buttons and screens as he methodically entered command after command.
"Activating the Sea God's Whip!"
"Energy module charging!"
"Thirty percent... seventy percent... one hundred percent! Charging complete!"
"Directional electromagnetic confinement field established!"
"Target coordinates locked! Margin of error within zero point one meters!"
The weapons officer's voice was steady and calm. Each command rang out clearly through the bridge in orderly succession.
This was no bluff!
They really were going to strike!
Aboard the yacht.
The white captain shouted, "Young Master Jun, only two hundred meters to the maritime boundary!"
"One hundred meters!"
"Only fifty meters left!"
The finish line was within reach!
The smugness and madness on Gao Zisheng's face reached their peak!
