Background / History

Dragon Kingdom’s founding generation included Long Qianshan, who led all three military branches in the war that established the nation. Xu Anbang built its navy from a force without a suitable warship into a fleet of submarines, destroyers, and aircraft carriers 187 506. Elder Xu describes the kingdom’s identity as rooted in five thousand years of civilization and survival through the rise and fall of rival powers 268.

The country’s wartime history also includes the sacrifices of the Lu family and Yue Qinhu. Lu Lanxin refused to abandon the country during the Japanese invasion, declaring that the nation came before the family; at its economic height, the Lu family supplied cloth and grain to roughly a third of the population and held interests in railways, shipping, and banking. Xu Anbang credits Yue Qinhu with saving his life on the Korean Battlefield and helping safeguard the country’s future against Eagle Country’s forces 130 187.

Ye Jincheng played a central role in the country’s later scientific development. After being imprisoned for five years in Eagle Country when he attempted to return home, he returned to Dragon Kingdom and helped establish its aerospace and missile industries, earning the National Medal 306.

Power within the country is not limited to its formal institutions. Longdu’s Eight Great Clans hold extensive influence, while hidden martial families such as the Ning family are little known even to senior authorities 171 700. After evidence of the Cao family’s dealings with Skull and Bones emerges, Yue Changlong demands an end to hereditary royal-clan privilege. Elder Chen agrees that nobles should be subject to the same law as commoners, though Ye Jincheng immediately challenges the decision as hasty 848 850.

Ye Jincheng later explains that Elder Chen, Long Qianshan, and the other leaders agreed to Yue Changlong’s demand, but that agreement did not immediately dismantle the remaining clans’ entrenched influence. The Cao family is uprooted, while the Yi and Yan families remain powerful and resist behind the scenes. Ye suspects that other royal clans may have supported the Ning family’s attempt to seize Ning Hongye as a test of the government’s limits 898.

• East Wind carrier group — Forces Eagle Country’s Ninth Fleet to retreat after locking more than 120 firing positions onto it; a tactical assessment gives the Ninth Fleet less than a one-percent chance of surviving combat 287 288.

Confrontations with foreign forces

• Modu cemetery crisis — Eagle Country agents attempt to seize Yue Xiaofei. Dragon Kingdom troops mobilize, and its East Wind carrier group deters the approaching Ninth Fleet without a battle 266 271 279 287. Qin Qianshan rejects bargaining over either Yue or Xu Anbang and declares that the country will not abandon any citizen. The confrontation later escalates when Smith’s Eye of Omniscience tattoo triggers an explosion, prompting Yue to shield Xu with his body 278 301.
• Special-forces competition — Eastern Japan’s Ito Makoto defeats and seriously injures ten members of the Snow Wolf special-forces team. Yue Xiaofei steps forward after Eastern Japan’s representatives mock the country, defending the injured soldiers and challenging the claim that Dragon Kingdom has no worthy fighters 352.
• Ito Yūgorō’s public exposure — Ito attempts to use foreign media to portray himself as a dying elder rescuing his great-grandson, turning international opinion against Dragon Kingdom. His subsequent confession exposes both wartime crimes and the funding of cultural infiltration intended to discredit heroes and weaken national identity 380 405.
• Eastern Japan operation — Yue forces Eastern Japan’s Emperor to read a public edict demanding an apology, disarmament, the return of cultural relics, removal of war-criminal memorial tablets, and reparations. A Dragon Kingdom fleet subsequently confronts Japanese forces 484 492 493. The edict specifies the permanent disbandment of the defense forces, the return of stolen relics within three months, and payment of one trillion U.S. dollars within one year 484.
• Day of Rebirth — During the globally broadcast operation, Yue forces Eastern Japan’s Female Chancellor to kowtow ninety-nine times for thirty-five million victims. The narration states that later historians call this the “Day of Rebirth,” marking the country’s symbolic emergence from a century of national humiliation 460 461.
• Armed rescue and homecoming — Dragon Kingdom mobilizes combined land, sea, and air forces to bring Yue and his comrades home. Zhang Beihai authorizes naval action if Eagle Country’s Seventh Fleet intervenes and immediate interception of hostile aircraft without further requests for permission. The returning heroes receive military salutes and a ceremonial harbor reception 469 496 505.
• Goryeo dispute — Goryeo demands Yue Xiaofei’s handover and mobilizes forces after a confrontation at its embassy. Its president later resigns, while Four Star Group’s chairman publicly apologizes outside the Dragon Kingdom embassy 680 685. Chairman Park Taegyeon also announces the group’s withdrawal from Dragon Kingdom’s market, donation of its local assets to the Dragon Kingdom Charity Foundation, and thirty billion yuan in compensation to Yue and the country’s people 685.

Modu Port defense

When supernatural enemies threaten Modu Port, Zhao Mengsheng calls for volunteers to delay them so that more than a hundred thousand civilians can escape. Every soldier steps forward, including wounded personnel. His address rejects the enemies’ claims to divinity and emphasizes that superior power cannot break the soldiers’ resolve to defend the population 530.

Xu Anbang later cites Yue Xiaofei’s protection of the people of Modu, alongside his actions in Eastern Japan, as grounds for honoring him as a national hero 699.

Military parade and public recognition

With royal-clan resistance continuing internally and the Ancient Gods Church threatening from abroad, Ye Jincheng asks Yue Xiaofei to step into public view at the military parade. The leadership intends his appearance to demonstrate the country’s strength openly rather than leaving its defenders in the shadows 898.

At the parade, Long Qianshan and Xu Anbang present Yue with the Sea-Calming Needle Medal for his actions atop Mount Fuji. Long then invites him to address the world from the highest reviewing platform as a representative of Dragon Kingdom’s youth 917.

Yue’s speech highlights Reverse Scale’s resistance to foreign God Tier experts and rejects portrayals of the country’s younger generation as weak or submissive. He invokes the support of 1.4 billion compatriots and the defense of 9.6 million square kilometers of national territory 920.

War against the False Gods

Dragon Kingdom’s leaders identify the beings worshipped as gods as higher-dimensional entities that feed on human faith and fear. According to Ye Jincheng, Yu the Great’s Nine Cauldrons anchor a seal protecting the world, with Kunlun at its heart. The Ancient Gods Church seeks to break that seal 926 927.

When foreign leaders empowered by the beings demonstrate their strength, Dragon Kingdom’s council debates appeasement but ultimately chooses resistance. It passes the Swordbearer Act unanimously and appoints Yue Xiaofei to lead the new Ninth Bureau. He reorganizes Reverse Scale as its First Action Sequence and begins planning offensive intelligence operations rather than waiting for the enemy’s ultimatum to expire 928 929 930.

At a global press conference, Yue broadcasts evidence of the Ancient Gods Church’s atrocities, its attack on a Nine Cauldrons Branch Altar, and the Yi family’s collaboration. He announces that the Yi family has been executed and that Augustine and his Heavy Water Apostles have been wiped out. He then bans deep-sea worship and Ancient Gods doctrine within Dragon Kingdom and orders agents of the False Gods killed on sight if they enter the country 943.

Ye Qingmei’s recovered log reveals an earlier effort to preserve the national and global defense: she led seventeen volunteers into the Kunlun Ruins to prevent the Heavenly Gate from opening and protect the Nine Cauldrons’ seal 977.

The Church subsequently issues the Divine Emperor Edict through Marcius, demanding a five-on-five life-and-death contest on a Pacific island. It threatens to seize the Kunlun Ruins and destroy the Nine Cauldrons if Dragon Kingdom loses. An aged voice speaking over the encrypted red telephone orders the leadership to accept the challenge 977.

Dragon Kingdom’s representatives are Yue Xiaofei, Yue Feng, Li Jiahao, Ning Hongye, and Han Duoduo. At the confrontation, Han silently activates tens of thousands of miniature god-slaying runes beneath the island, while Yue Xiaofei’s black-and-gold dragon aura shatters the opposing five Divine Agents’ combined display of divine might 978 979.

During the ensuing arena conflict, Yue Xiaofei reaffirms his position as Dragon Kingdom’s Swordbearer while declaring that protecting his sister is inseparable from protecting the country. He fully unleashes his Second-Stage Gene Lock and peak National Authority Level combat power 991.
