The call ended abruptly.

The restaurant fell deathly silent.

Su Guohua held up his phone, his smile frozen on his face.

He had bragged for ages, only to be exposed in front of everyone.

The atmosphere at the table was painfully awkward.

Su Guohua lowered his phone stiffly. Fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.

He could feel Yue Xiaofei's calm gaze on him, pricking at him like an invisible needle.

"Dad, what happened? Didn't you say you had a way?"

Su Wanning's hopes vanished. Her admiration for her father took a blow too.

"What do you know?"

Embarrassed and furious, Su Guohua lowered his voice and snapped, "This year is different! Security's tight! You think these are movie tickets?"

He could not bring himself to look at Yue Xiaofei, so he took his frustration out on his daughter to hide his embarrassment.

Jiang Lan watched from the side, both distressed and helpless. All she could do was sigh.

Then, amid the stifling silence, a quiet voice spoke.

"Uncle Su, if you really want the tickets, perhaps I can help."

It was Yue Xiaofei.

His expression remained unchanged, as though he were talking about something trivial.

But his words stunned all three members of the Su family.

After a brief silence, Su Guohua was the first to react. He let out an angry laugh, as though he had heard the funniest joke of the century.

"You? Help?"

Su Guohua pointed at Yue Xiaofei, his voice rising with agitation.

"I asked a department chief and a colonel, and neither could do a thing! What can a kid like you do? Who do you know? Some big shot at Military Headquarters?"

"There's a limit to bragging! Are you trying to humiliate me, or your Aunt Jiang?"

Su Wanning looked equally scornful.
