History

Tang San initially regards Feng Yang with hostility and supports Xiao Wu’s refusal to become Feng Yang’s disciple, even claiming he can make decisions for her. He takes pride in his own Soul Ring configuration and considers himself superior to Feng Yang before Feng Yang’s strength becomes apparent. 1

At Shrek Academy, Tang San’s feud with Feng Yang intensifies. His Blue Silver Grass proves ineffective against Feng Yang’s Blue Flame, and he attacks Feng Yang with more than a hundred Rain of Pear Blossoms Needles after Feng Yang humiliates Xiao Wu. 9 Tang San and Xiao Wu form the Three-Five Combination, but their arena winning streak ends against Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing; Tang San suffers a severe hand injury and directs his resentment toward Feng Yang. 10 12

While pursuing a Phoenix-tail Crested Serpent’s Spirit Ring, Tang San volunteers to duel Meng Yiran in Oscar’s place. Meng Yiran cuts through his Blue Silver Grass with Crescent Guard and defeats him, leaving him injured and enraged. 18 He later searches the Star Dou Great Forest for Xiao Wu despite the danger posed by the Titan Giant Ape. 20

Tang San’s attempted absorption of a two-thousand-year-old insect Soul Beast’s ring is disrupted when he sees Xiao Wu and Feng Yang nearby. Unable to calm himself, he loses the original ring and absorbs only an eight-year white ring, which initially grants no Soul Skill. 22 25 The resulting public ridicule damages both his reputation and that of Shrek Academy. 28 29

His relationship with Xiao Wu deteriorates into open conflict. After confronting her over the incident in the forest, Tang San becomes jealous of her growing attachment to Feng Yang; they eventually fight, and Xiao Wu defeats him. 26 27 28 When Xiao Wu chooses to leave Shrek with Feng Yang, Tang San unsuccessfully tries to reconcile with her. 34

To restore his standing, Tang San reveals his Twin Martial Souls and begins using the Clear Sky Hammer. He repeatedly faces Xiao Wu and Feng Yang’s disciples in the Soul Master Competition, but Xiao Wu counters his hammer techniques and defeats him again. 73 91 92 93

After Feng Yang kills Tang Hao, Tang San confronts him for his father’s Soul Bones, is beaten and humiliated, then seeks Bibi Dong’s aid alongside Yu Xiaogang. 118 119 With most of his former support gone, he flees with Yu Xiaogang and resolves to cultivate toward level 60 before seeking Sea God Island. 138 Later, he abandons another opportunity to compete when Yan’s appearance suggests Feng Yang may be nearby. 147

Personality

Tang San is proud of his talent and highly sensitive to humiliation. Defeats, public mockery, and the weakness of his Third Soul Ring repeatedly provoke reckless behavior, including charging stronger opponents without strategy and using excessive violence after a team battle. 12 30 31

He is intensely protective of—and emotionally attached to—Xiao Wu. His concern drives him to search for her in the Star Dou Great Forest, but jealousy and resentment over her association with Feng Yang turn that bond hostile. 20 24 27

Despite his temper, Tang San can be patient and tactical in combat. He uses evasive movement to wait for an opening against Xiao Wu and recognizes the danger posed by opponents connected to Feng Yang, choosing to retreat from Huajian Villa rather than risk exposure. 92 147
