Geosynchronous orbit, deep in the silent reaches of space.

A space station built from alien alloy circled the blue planet, suspended like a temple among the stars.

This was the Watchtower, headquarters of the Justice League and Earth's last line of defense.

Inside the vast main conference room, the atmosphere was stifling.

There were seven seats, but only four were occupied.

Wonder Woman, Diana Prince, the demigod princess of Themyscira, stood with her arms crossed and her brow furrowed. Her eyes held a gravity rarely seen even among Amazons.

And in the seat at the head of the table sat Batman, Bruce Wayne.

He said nothing. He merely reached out and tapped the console.

On the enormous holographic screen at the center of the room, the earthshaking rescue in Metropolis's Central Park began replaying again and again from every angle.

The image froze at the moment Link hurled ten thousand tons of wreckage into the lake with his bare hands.

"Unbelievable..." Barry Allen finally broke the silence. "I mean, where did this guy come from? Throwing a satellite barehanded? Clark, are you sure you saw it right? He wasn't using some kind of antigravity device?"
