Every cell rejoiced.

Every gene sang.

His eyes were closed, yet he could "see" more clearly than ever.

He could "see" photons pass through his skin and enter his blood, where ravenous cells devoured them and transformed them into something called "power." He could "hear" the heartbeat of the city beneath his feet, the joys and sorrows of millions flowing together into a torrent called "fate."

He could "smell" the trace left in the air by the demigoddess from Themyscira when she departed: fear.
