Countless hearts leaped into throats.
But the earth-shaking collision everyone expected never came.
Doomsday's fist passed straight through.
With unstoppable force, it tore through the spot where Link had been and struck empty air.
The blast from the punch ground every piece of rubble within a hundred meters below to dust, leaving a circular depression as smooth as a mirror.
Link, meanwhile, appeared three meters beside Doomsday like a ghost, silent and intangible. He still hovered there with the same calm composure.
As though he had never moved.

For the first time, a flicker of confusion entered Doomsday's simple mind, built for nothing but killing.
