"Now, it's your turn."
Link's voice was like ice crystals condensed in the vacuum of space, utterly devoid of warmth yet piercing to the bone, driving straight into Proxima Midnight's ears.
Proxima Midnight froze.
She stared at the Glaive that had turned to cosmic dust in the distance, feeling Corvus Glaive's life force, so tightly bound to his weapon, fade completely and forever. A fear deeper than death seized her heart.
Dead.
Her immortal husband, the sharpest blade in Thanos's arsenal, had just... died?
Killed by an unremarkable bolt of golden lightning?
No, it wasn't the lightning. Before that, the man had somehow warped space, separating her husband from his weapon. That power... she couldn't even comprehend it.
Run!
That was the only thought left in Proxima Midnight's mind. She was loyal to Thanos, but she was no fool. The man before her, this "King" who called himself Link, was a monster beyond all reason. His power had transcended the physical realm and reached the domain of laws.
She spun around, unleashing the energy within her at an unprecedented output, and became a streak of black light as she fled desperately toward the surviving fleet. She had to report everything that had happened here to Father. This man named Link, and that pair of gloves in his hands, posed a threat capable of shaking the order of the entire universe!
"Trying to run? Did you ask my permission?"
Link stood where he was, not even bothering to move.
Run? Where could she run? He had already used the power of reality to silently twist this entire battlefield into an enormous "pocket." Getting in was easy. Getting out depended on his mood as its owner.
Still, something this trivial hardly warranted his personal attention.
"Harley, your new toy just delivered herself."
