Apokolips Descends!

The instant the Boom Tube opened, a shudder from the depths of the soul swept across Earth.

It was the most primal fear a living creature felt when faced with its natural predator.

Link stood in the courtyard of Kamar-Taj, his expression calm.

He saw it with his eyes, but with his senses, long since pushed beyond human limits, he also "heard" it, "smelled" it, and "felt" it.

He heard reality's fabric shriek as it was torn apart by force. The sound seemed to strike directly at the soul, enough to drive anyone mad.

He smelled the stench of "hell" seeping through from the other side, a mixture of charred corpses, sulfur, and endless despair.

He felt a cold, unadulterated will of evil settling over the entire planet, bent on nothing but destruction and conquest.

That entrance was way flashier than my snap.

The thought crossed Link's mind at the worst possible moment.

The next second, the gates of hell flew open.

"Screeeee—!!!"

With a shrill chorus like billions of insects beating their wings at once, a black torrent poured out of the enormous Boom Tube like a flood bursting through a dam!

Parademons!

Tens of thousands, millions, tens of millions of Parademons!

They had batlike wings, insect limbs, and humanoid faces twisted by pain and madness. They were Apokolips's lowest-ranked cannon fodder, made from the intelligent inhabitants of conquered planets. Nothing remained in their minds but the instinct to obey and kill.

This vast demon army, large enough to blot out the sky, plunged toward Earth's atmosphere like a black plague of locusts!

Alarms blared at military bases across the globe. Countless fighter jets scrambled into the air, and the covers of surface-to-air missile silos swung open.

Yet all of it looked laughable before Apokolips's vanguard.
