A-Train and The Deep.

The Deep was sitting there, talking to A-Train about something.

But the moment he looked up, he glanced toward the door out of habit.

His eyes lit up when he saw Lin Mo.

"Lin Mo!"

A-Train followed his gaze and saw Lin Mo and Joanna too.

His expression turned complicated.

Yesterday, he'd only had a vague idea of what Lin Mo and Joanna had gone off to do.

Then Vought's official news came out this morning.

And he understood.

Those two hadn't just skipped class yesterday. They'd gone out and done something huge.

As for The Deep, after he saw the news this morning...

Did anyone know what his first reaction had been?

A-Train remembered scrolling through the Forum that morning.

The Deep had looked downright regretful and said, "Too bad I couldn't go."

A-Train hadn't even known what to say to that.

Sometimes The Deep's mind really did work differently from everyone else's. The guy must have water in his brain if he thought he was ready for something like that again.

And judging by him now, The Deep couldn't hold back any longer. As soon as Lin Mo and Joanna came close, he blurted out, "So you went to take down a criminal base yesterday!"

Lin Mo and Joanna exchanged a glance. Didn't everyone already know that?

The Deep looked thrilled.

"I knew you two had something important to do."

A-Train silently turned his face away.

Who was it that kept asking where they'd gone yesterday? How did that turn into "I knew it all along" after just one day?

Lin Mo couldn't be bothered to call him out. He picked a seat and sat down, and Joanna naturally sat beside him.
