Lin Mo rolled his eyes at her.
"Do you have a problem with my sense of direction?"
"A little."
Joanna answered without hesitation. After all, he had just needed to check a street sign himself to figure out where they had landed. Lin Mo didn't argue and led her to a late-night eatery that was still open.
Steam filled the place. Joanna couldn't quite make sense of the menu, so she simply left the ordering to Lin Mo.
Before long, several dishes were on the table. Curious, she first tried a bite of rice noodle roll, then turned her attention to the bowl of beef offal beside it.
"What's this?"
After Lin Mo told her, she hesitated, but finally picked up her chopsticks and tried a piece.
"How is it?"
"Not bad."
As Joanna spoke, she picked up a second piece. Lin Mo watched her without calling her out.
After their late-night meal, they wandered the streets for a long time. Whenever Joanna spotted something unfamiliar, she asked about it, and Lin Mo explained whatever he knew. A few times, even he had no idea, so he could only guess along with her.
They hadn't planned an itinerary in the first place and simply went wherever their feet took them. By the time the streetlights began to dim and the sky started brightening, Joanna was still holding some food she had just bought.
She looked at the sun rising in the distance, then turned to Lin Mo.
"Time to head back?"
"Just about."
It was already daylight in Xia, while night was approaching in America. Lin Mo took Joanna somewhere deserted and flew back into the sky.
Before long, they were back at Godolkin University.
After they returned from Xia, the days passed even faster than Lin Mo had expected.
