Inscribing the formation was trickier. Lu Zeming used forty-two Runes from the speed, reinforcement, and destruction categories to form the pattern, then linked them with circuits. He ran through it again and again in his Inner Landscape, only beginning the inscription once he was sure it would work.

He was meticulous, weighing every stroke before he made it.

By the time he finished, Lu Zeming was exhausted. He forced himself to keep going. One step remained: quenching and sharpening.
