The wind outside the exit was cold.
Tang San did not deny it. He raised a hand and pulled back the hood that covered half his face, letting the wind blow his blue hair behind him. His appearance had changed completely since the Soul Master Tournament, but his eyes had not.
Hu Liena gripped her Short Blade. The killing intent she had carried through Hell Road had yet to subside, and a layer of white light clung to the blade's edge.
"You knew who I was all along?" she asked.
"I only confirmed it before we entered Hell Road," Tang San said. "You've seen my Clear Sky Hammer."
"I'm asking him."
Hu Liena looked at Yuan Yu.
Yuan Yu was crouching on the ground, picking up pieces of his Wine Gourd. The gourd that had accompanied him for years had shattered into seven or eight pieces because of the Water-Aspect Mystic Bottle. He picked out a piece from the bottom with a notch in it and put it in his Soul Tool.
"I knew on the first day you entered the city," he said.
"You kept it from me for almost two years?"
"Tang San changed his name, not his enemies. I promised not to help either side hunt the other for five years. I could hardly give him away."
The Short Blade in Hu Liena's hand turned toward Tang San. "Xiao Wu is a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast, and you're someone Spirit Hall wants to investigate."
Tang San held a Hidden Weapon in his palm. "The Armistice Pact has three years left."
"I remember."
The air between them grew taut, but neither moved first.
Yuan Yu stepped between them and pressed a hand against the back of Hu Liena's blade. "He pulled you out of the Bat King's jaws once,
