Background / History

Xiao Wu lost her mother during a Spirit Hall hunt in the Star Dou Great Forest. She later recognizes Bibi Dong as the Soul Master who killed her mother and took her Spirit Ring and soul bone 167. After taking human form, Xiao Wu enters Shrek Academy alongside Tang San; both pass its admissions tests 19.

She initially keeps her nature secret from the academy. When she needs a fourth Spirit Ring, she confides in Yuan Yu that a transformed Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast can condense a ring upon reaching a new Major Realm. He guards the valley while she forms it and agrees not to tell Tang San before she is ready 115.

At the tournament championship, Xiao Wu’s aura becomes exposed. She identifies herself publicly as a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soft Bone Rabbit and confronts Bibi Dong about her mother’s death. Shrek stands by her, and a negotiated five-year truce allows her to leave safely without settling their personal feud 167 169 170. She returns to Star Dou Great Forest, promising to meet Tang San at Shrek in five years 172.

When they reunite, Xiao Wu forms her sixth ring at Star Dou Core Lake before leaving to train at sea. She wants to become better able to defend herself rather than always relying on Tang San to stand in front of her 192. Later, she obtains a hunting roster and records Zhong Kui’s confession that he ordered the encirclement, fire, and blocked exit during the hunt for her mother. She continues to seek her mother’s Ring and Bone from Bibi Dong 227.

Her anger toward those responsible for her mother’s death remains firm. She nevertheless insists on a precise record of each person’s actions rather than treating Zhong Kui’s confession as the end of the case 169 227.
