When Rover and Mo Bai arrived, Professor Mornye looked up at them.
"Mo Bai."
Before Mo Bai could introduce himself, Rover said his name for him.
Mo Bai rather liked being looked after by a friend.
"Professor Mornye, how did the investigation into my Tacet Disc go?"
Mo Bai stepped forward and asked about the Academy's findings.
Beep beep—
As soon as he finished speaking, a floating cannon beside Professor Mornye brought over the Tacet Disc he had handed in, gripping it like the claw of an arcade machine.
"After a careful comparison, we confirmed that your Tacet Disc was made by the Academy."
Professor Mornye moved her hand, and Mo Bai's Tacet Disc began projecting footage.
It showed Mo Bai's past experiences.
Rover watched intently, as though she meant to commit every image to memory this time.
"The program inside is also running normally. There's no sign it was tampered with."
That confirmed the footage was genuine.
"But something still went wrong somewhere, didn't it?" Mo Bai asked.
Professor Mornye no longer remembered, but from what he recalled of their time together...

"This footage doesn't match what the Academy has on record."
A virtual display appeared beside her.
It showed Rover and Lynae driving back the Voidworm.
Mo Bai was nowhere to be seen in Professor Mornye's recording.
Rover glanced at him with concern.
Being forgotten by the world would hurt anyone.
But when she looked at Mo Bai, she found no disappointment or grief on his face. He was looking down, deep in thought.
"My memories can wait
