Background and History

Rover arrived in Solaris with almost no memory, not even of her name. Driven by an instinct to save the world, she traveled from place to place confronting its disasters. Accounts at Star Torch Academy credit her with defending Jinzhou during the Threnodian War and saving Rinascita 29 292. In Honami City, she stabilized its Sonoro, allowing most of its inhabitants—figures bound by lingering attachments—to find peace 108.

Before losing her memories, Rover came to Lahai-Roi to investigate and adopted Aemeath after the girl lost her parents to the Threnodians. Rover raised her and encouraged her studies, but was absent for many of Aemeath’s later accomplishments 149 150.

Before reaching Star Torch Academy, Rover lost part of her frequency to a Void Threnodian. Abu helped prevent further loss, weakening himself in the process; Rover’s own combat strength also fell 21 100. She enrolled at the Academy as a Candidate referred by the Black Shores 6.

Personality

Rover is protective without being quick to demand explanations. She recognizes that Mo Bai’s claimed amnesia is suspect but helps him settle into Solaris; later, when he hides information from her, she notices without pressing him 5 137. She is warmer and more playful around friends than her initially reserved manner suggests 4 23.

She takes injured people and threatened friends seriously, yet tries not to make their choices for them. She checks on a robbery victim after stopping the attackers, lets Mo Bai lead his fight with Scar while remaining ready to help, and questions whether shielding him from danger would become confinement 57 75 137. Her concern has a personal cost: Gabriella describes her as afraid of losing her friends, and Rover worries that Mo Bai and Aemeath may imitate her self-sacrificing habits 86 274.

• Lost past and Singulum: Rover insists on seeing memories of her life with Aemeath. She learns that Singulum arose from her lost frequency and accepts its return, choosing to protect the life she has found in Solaris rather than abandon it for a lost home 149 150 153.
• Aleph-1: Rover and Aemeath fight together in Tunneler. Rover refuses to reclaim its Greatsword because it supports the underground region beneath Lahai-Roi 226.
• Academy crisis: Rover assesses Mo Bai for the Black Shores, then chooses to aid Star Torch Academy discreetly rather than solve its internal conflict for it 258 259 274.
