Kurumi looked toward Lingmeng, who sat behind Shido. Lingmeng stared back at her, baffled.
"Wait, Shido I can understand. But how do you know my name too?
And as for showing you around the school, wouldn't Shido be enough on his own?"
Showing a beautiful girl around school was usually a great assignment.
But this transfer student had only just arrived, yet she already knew both Shido's name and hers. Lingmeng couldn't make sense of it.
"Oh my, I just hoped to get to know you better, Lingmeng. Building friendships between classmates is important, after all."
Kurumi narrowed her eyes with a smile, then rose onto her toes and whispered in Lingmeng's ear.
"As for how I know your name—as the strongest Spirit, Element Make, you're quite famous."
Only Lingmeng could hear Kurumi's voice, but the weight of those words was another matter entirely.
She knew Lingmeng's identification code. That meant this girl named Kurumi Tokisaki was either a Wizard or a being like Lingmeng herself.
In other words—a Spirit.
Judging by what Kurumi had said, though, the latter seemed more likely.
A Spirit had used her own abilities to enroll in high school as an ordinary person. It sounded downright surreal.
For now, though, that was the only conclusion Lingmeng could draw.
This atmosphere is getting a little strange.
Heh. What an interesting woman.
That was what Lingmeng thought, and an intrigued look spread across her face.
"Sure. If you want me along, who am I to refuse?"
"Oh my, then it's settled, Lingmeng."
Kurumi smiled and walked to her chosen seat under the astonished gazes of her classmates.
"Lingmeng... what did Kurumi just say to you?"
Shido glanced at Kurumi, then asked in confusion.
Lingmeng didn't turn toward him. She stayed exactly as she was.
"Shido... this girl
