Not understanding what Origami meant, Lingmeng tilted her head in confusion.
Immediately afterward, a fierce rush of air sounded behind her.
She turned to see several missiles flying toward her from somewhere unknown.
Frowning slightly, Lingmeng made no move to flee. She simply extended her right hand and gently clenched it.
Instantly, all the incoming missiles stopped.
Then they crumpled as though crushed by some invisible pressure before exploding with a bang!
"What the hell do you think you're doing!?"
At first, she thought Jessica had fired them, despite having just agreed to withdraw.
Lingmeng looked ahead in anger.
Only then did she realize that Jessica hadn't launched those missiles.
They had come from several Wizards flying toward them from a short distance away.
"Reinforcements?"
She had thought things could end here, but now another batch of cannon fodder had shown up.
Still, cannon fodder was cannon fodder. No matter how many came, it wouldn't make any difference.
Just as Lingmeng was about to spend a little more time dealing with them—

Kotori's urging voice rang through her earpiece.
Lingmeng lowered the hand she had raised, covered her earpiece, and asked,
"What? If I go back now, what am I supposed to do about these people?"
Glancing at the approaching DEM Wizards, Lingmeng muttered with a conflicted expression.
Kotori, however, shrugged as though she wasn't worried at all.
"Relax. We've already sent some powerful outside help to back you up."
"Powerful outside help? Who? Kannazuki?"
"Hehe, nope. It's someone both you and I know."
Kotori's mysterious attitude left Lingmeng looking thoroughly exasperated.
