At Aaron's command, the Ninth Shepherd Legion advanced in force. More than a thousand soldiers marched forward in a mighty host, armor gleaming like mirrors, spears rising like a forest, killing intent soaring skyward. Every Shepherd soldier wore iron-studded leather armor. Spearmen formed ranks at the front, sword-and-shield soldiers advanced behind them, and archers and crossbowmen covered the regulars from the flanks, ready to unleash their fury at any moment.
