Rumor had it that Candlekeep had originally been the private fortress of Alaundo, the greatest prophet in the history of the Realms.
A few words were needed about this "greatest prophet in the Realms." As one of the legends of the Realms, the prophet Alaundo was a household name, because during his lifetime, he had supposedly left behind some 114,514 prophecies. They covered everything from his own lifetime through his death and right up to the present. It seemed that Alaundo had predicted every major event in the Realms, and the scholars of Candlekeep could always find a few words of his suggesting that everything had fallen within his predictions.
