Inquisitor Keldorn roared, drew a longsword from beneath his robes, and attacked. Aaron could clearly sense greater, holier, more formidable wills standing behind Keldorn. Those wills were closely linked to the most fundamental power in the multiverse, transforming it into an endless stream of strength.
The firmer his faith, the greater his strength. As the Shield of Faith covering Keldorn's body reached its utmost limit, the surrounding space shook, roared, and trembled without end!
The Paladins protecting Keldorn reacted first. Their crossbow bolts and divine magic created an impenetrable defense around them, shielding Aaron as well. Layers of Aura of Protection and empowering energy turned the dim underground hall into a dazzling blaze of light in the blink of an eye.

Beneath those layers of protection, the Paladins were ready for battle, but the Skaven Clanrats saw through their movements with ease. Clan Eshin's assassins flipped and twisted like graceful gymnasts, effortlessly evading the weapons swinging toward them. Blades wreathed in fire and lightning brushed their fur, while the warpstone blades in their hands sliced through the Paladins' sturdy armor like hot knives through butter!
In the blink of an eye, two Paladins collapsed in pools of blood. One had been stabbed in the chest, the other in the throat, temporarily putting both out of action.
Thanks to their numerous protections and the aid of Lay on Hands, the Skaven Assassins had failed to kill them in a single strike. Just as the assassins prepared to retreat, the Paladins acted.
