Meteors fell from the sky, and supple-limbed Slaaneshi Daemons emerged from the smoke. One daemon legion after another descended onto the surface of Azzagrat. Amid thick purple smoke, Slaanesh's army had arrived!
The first Slaaneshi commander to reach the battlefield was the Son of Slaanesh, Prince Sigvald the "Magnificent." He and his Painbringers could scarcely contain their eagerness. As he landed gracefully, his loyal followers-the Painbringers-descended right behind him.
Every Painbringer had risen from the ranks of the Slaanesh Warriors. To earn that promotion, they had to undergo the six trials of Slaanesh, proving that they could reject every temptation and devote themselves wholeheartedly to glorious combat. Armed with scimitars and rune shields and clad in fine armor, they had utterly abandoned the individuality and bodily pleasures prized by the Slaanesh Worshippers. Their only thoughts were of honing their martial skills and bringing their enemies the most agonizing, beautiful deaths.
Now this Slaaneshi legion, numbering only a few hundred, had descended into Azzagrat. No sooner had they arrived than they caught a scent that delighted them-the prospect of tormenting this layer of the Abyss itself!
The Abyss fed on death and depravity, but rather than killing their enemies, these Slaanesh Worshippers preferred to torment living captives endlessly. The pleasure of making the Abyss itself suffer was like fine wine to them!
Then let it begin!
Close behind Prince Sigvald came great hordes of Slaaneshi Daemons. Every one of them had supple limbs and an unhurried gait. Though not particularly skilled in combat, they possessed powerful abilities of charm. They danced and sang soft, enchanting songs, and though their melodies were often discordant and cacophonous, almost no one could resist their allure.
