The Duke of Air [Aqua], also known as [Aaqa], had commanded the Air Elemental Army of the Multiverse and utterly defeated the Daemon Army in that all-out war against the Abyss. Not only had she crushed the demons under the Daemon Prince Miska the Wolf-Spider, but she had also used an artifact, the Rod of Seven Parts, to seal the Daemon Prince away completely.
It had been a glorious victory for the Plane of Law over the Abyssal Plane, and it had brought about two major consequences.
First, the demons of the Abyss no longer dared entertain hopes of directly invading the Prime Material Plane. Terrified of being sealed away and losing both their power and freedom, subsequent Daemon Princes had turned their attention back to the Abyssal Blood War.
Second, the Oberiths, once the dominant race of the Abyss, had suffered devastating losses and been forced to withdraw from its center stage. Pale Night, the Mother of Demons, had fallen from an absolute ruler of the Abyss to a powerful lord living in seclusion. Apart from Dagon and a handful of other lords who remained Oberiths, the vast majority of demons in the Abyss were now Tanar'ri Demons.
Without question, the great achievements of Aqua, the Duke of Air, deserved universal praise. She might have acted out of self-preservation, but an achievement was an achievement, and could not be erased.
