The year 1368 of the Imperial Calendar was another year of renewed glory for the Cormyrians.
At the beginning of the year, Aaron, Earl Salian, successfully reclaimed the Rocklands. Though he had yet to gain complete control over the region, with his current strength, bringing all of it under his rule was only a matter of time.
In February, Waukeen returned, and the story of Aaron's legendary adventure soon spread throughout the Realms.
At the end of February, Aaron formally became Archduke of Green Velar and, with authorization from the Kingdom Council, assumed the office of Shogun.
March brought a marvel rarely seen in a century: dozens of dragons flew across Cormyr. Representing Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon God, a primordial gold dragon signed the Holy Alliance with Shogun Aaron, announcing Bahamut's return and the official arrival of the dragons.
Some dragons began making their homes in Cormyr.
Also in March, Charlotte Caradnae announced her return to Cormyr. With her return came the news that the young Sorcerer lady had reached Legendary strength, adding another Legendary powerhouse to Cormyr. With her coffers overflowing from tax revenues, Alusair announced a three-day open banquet at Cormyr's War Wizard Academy, accompanied by spellcasting displays.
Under the combined onslaught of the dragons and Aaron's army, the remaining goblin and ork forces in Green Velar were finally overwhelmed and annihilated. Apart from a handful of orks who fled north toward the Great Desert, no hostile forces remained in Green Velar.
Aaron announced that, under the terms of the Holy Alliance, he had ceded one-tenth of the Duchy of Green Velar's land to Bahamut's dragons.
That same month, as spring planting proceeded in full swing, Shogun Aaron Salian formally announced that the northern expedition would begin once the planting was finished.
