All around him

stood a forest of dead bamboo, its bare stalks stretching as far as he could see.

The ground was covered in gray-brown dust. Not even weeds grew there.

Dark green poisonous miasma, thick enough to see, hung in the air.

Above the miasma

loomed a dismal sky.

Heavy black clouds pressed down so low they looked close enough to touch.

As far as he could see,

there was no sign of life. Deathly silence and oppressive gloom filled the place.

"Naruto, follow me."

While Naruto Uzumaki stood stunned, Tsunade slipped out of his arms.

When Naruto Uzumaki came to his senses, Tsunade was already walking toward a cave.

"Shikkotsu Forest?"

At the entrance to the Cave

were three dark brown characters

that looked like long-dried blood.

Inside, the Cave was pitch-black.

As they walked,

they passed bones scattered everywhere, human and animal alike.

Along the way,

drops of water occasionally fell from the Cave ceiling into
