Seeing the look on his face, Kurenai Yuhi drained her glass.
She could tell.
Unless she let this lecher have his way a little today, she would never get through this meal in peace.
"Kurenai, you can really hold your liquor."
"Here... let me pour you another."
As he spoke, Naruto Uzumaki filled Kurenai's glass again.
"Kid, are you trying to make me miserable by giving me nothing but alcohol?"
"Put some yakiniku on my plate."
Kurenai shot Naruto a look, her voice playfully reproachful.
"Ah... how could I forget?"
Naruto laughed awkwardly and picked up his chopsticks to serve her a piece of yakiniku.
But when he looked at the grill, there was nothing left on it.
"Naruto... sorry. I ate all the yakiniku."
Hinata Hyuga lowered her head shyly.
"It's fine."
"Server, ten more platters of yakiniku!"
"Hinata, eat as much as you want."
Naruto smiled.
"Okay."
Hinata nodded.
Before long,
ten platters of yakiniku arrived.
Naruto turned the heat all the way up and laid the meat on the grill.
Then,
his mouth fell open in shock.
Hinata was eating yakiniku... way too fast, wasn't she?
Her chopsticks were swift and precise, snatching up a slice of meat every time they darted out.
More importantly,
the chopsticks in Hinata's hand never stopped moving.
In just a few dozen seconds, she had nearly cleared the grill.
And this was yakiniku.
If she were eating something else,
she would probably be even faster.
"That's incredible."
Naruto couldn't help saying it aloud.
Though Hinata ate a lot and ate quickly, her table manners were surprisingly elegant.
In just ten minutes, Hinata had polished off all ten platters.
"Server, another ten!"
Naruto called out again.
Hinata ate faster and faster.
In the end,
the servers couldn't bring out the meat as fast as she ate it.
"Burp~"
Hinata set down her chopsticks and let out a burp.
For the first time in her life,
she had eaten until she was this full.
"Huh?"
"Naruto-kun, Kurenai, why are you looking at me?"
Hinata Hyuga asked, puzzled.
"Hinata, you can eat that much?"
Kurenai stared at her, wide-eyed.
Forty large platters of yakiniku!
Hinata had eaten every last one.
After all,
an adult man could eat four or five platters at most.
Hinata had eaten forty!
Ten times as much as a grown man!
"Ah!"
"I... I didn't notice."
Only after Kurenai pointed it out did Hinata come back to her senses.
Looking at the mountain of plates before her, she stuck out her tongue in embarrassment.
She had been enjoying the food so much that she had completely lost track of how much she'd eaten.
"Hinata, where does all that food go?"
Kurenai asked, looking at Hinata's slender body.
How could a body like that
hold so much food?
"Teacher Kurenai, Naruto says I have two Pet Bears inside me."
"They absorb everything I eat."
Hinata spoke with innocent sincerity.
"Pervert!"
Kurenai glanced at Naruto and cursed him under her breath.
What Pet Bears?
Shameless creep.
"Come on, Kurenai."
"Let me toast you again."
Naruto filled Kurenai's glass.
Kurenai gave a soft huff and tipped her head back, draining it.
The alcohol had turned her fair cheeks rosy, making her look adorable.
"Oh!"
"Kurenai, what a coincidence."
Just then, a delighted voice rang out.
A moment later,
Asuma Sarutobi walked over with a cigarette between his lips.
His eyes lit up.
Kurenai looked completely different today.
Not only was she wearing delicate, understated makeup, but the alcohol had also brought a soft pink flush to her cheeks.
Her tipsy expression and flawless features made Asuma's heart race.
"Kurenai, why are you drinking here all alone?"
"Come on, I'll drink with you."
As though Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga weren't there, Asuma picked up a glass and moved to pour himself a drink.
"Asuma, I told you to stop pestering me."
"Go away!"
Kurenai frowned.
"Kurenai, I was wrong about what happened last time."
"I shouldn't have smoked in front of your student."
As he spoke,
Asuma remembered the cigarette still in his mouth and hurriedly tossed it onto the floor.
"Kurenai, please forgive me."
"This isn't about forgiveness. I don't like you. Understand?"
"Leave, and don't bother me again."
With the alcohol in her system, Kurenai waved him away impatiently.
Ever since she learned how her future had originally unfolded, Kurenai had found Asuma repulsive.
In this life,
she would never let him disrupt her life again.
"Kurenai, just give me a chance, will you?"
"Spend some time with me, and I'm sure you'll come to accept me."
Asuma spoke patiently.
"Get lost!"
Kurenai fixed her gaze on Asuma, her eyes growing cold.
She had made herself perfectly clear, yet he kept pestering her.
In that case,
even if he was the Hokage's son, she had no reason to be polite.
Kurenai hadn't lowered her voice, so everyone else in the Barbecue Restaurant turned to look, curious about what was happening.
"Kurenai, you're drunk."
"I'll take you out of here."
Feeling the eyes on him, Asuma's face darkened, and he reached for Kurenai's arm.
Smack!
With a sharp crack, someone slapped Asuma's hand away.
