Outside the Military Affairs Hall in Tear Knight City, several recorders nailed copies of an announcement to a wooden board.
A number of officers stopped to read it. One rubbed his chin and asked a colleague beside him, "Fifteen years old?"
His colleague looked at the name on the announcement but did not answer.
Many people were not surprised.
Sheen's achievements in the Battle of Blackpine spoke for themselves. Many frontline officers believed he had earned the appointment through military merit, won with solid results on the battlefield.
Others were dissatisfied, of course. Some Long Night nobles thought he was too young and inexperienced to enter the Tear Knight Defense Line's reconstruction system so quickly.
But whether they supported or questioned the appointment, more and more people began to remember the name: the Lord of Blackpine, Sheen Greenwood.
The support delegation from the Holy City set out for Tear Knight City.
The convoy traveled north along Sacred Flame Avenue, with Holy City knights at the front and wagons carrying various supplies behind them.
At the rear of the convoy, a young recorder in a gray robe sat in a corner. His robe was old, its cuffs worn, and his hair was tied back with black cord.
While the other recorders leafed through documents, he leaned against the carriage wall, propping up his chin with one hand as he read a newly delivered postwar report on the Tear Knight Defense Line with the other.
Tucked among the papers was the latest appointment announcement issued by the Governor's Mansion.
"Appointment Order for the Deputy Envoy of the Sacred War Reconstruction Institute."
Sheen Greenwood. The young recorder glanced over the name.
"Fifteen?" He gave a short laugh.
The recorder beside him looked up, then returned to sorting the appendices.
