Background

Yao Shi and her older brother, Yao Qing, were pursued by assassins before Wu Xingsheng spared their lives. He bound the siblings to a three-year wager: they could earn freedom by injuring or killing him, but would otherwise remain at his side. During their first attempt, Yao Shi stabbed Wu Xingsheng in the abdomen, proving more dangerous in direct violence than Yao Qing expected. 123 124 178
