The island was full of fruit trees. Clusters of pineapple-like fruit hung high on their straight trunks.
Once ashore, Luffy eagerly looked around, hoping the island had some powerful monsters.
Sanji checked the pineapple-like fruit and found nothing wrong with it. He suggested picking plenty to store for later.
Nami took his advice. She gathered a few twigs and had everyone draw lots to decide who would stay aboard the Going Merry to watch the ship. Everyone else would pick fruit on the island.
Chopper drew the longest twig and was assigned to stay aboard.
Chopper watched his friends head into the island's interior with large baskets on their backs. Only when they disappeared from sight did he turn and scamper up to the second-level deck at the bow, his footsteps pattering away. Lin Mo was fishing there, so Chopper took tiny steps over and sat obediently beside him.
"Lin Mo, could you tell me what happened after you left Drum Island? I really want to know where you've been, what you've experienced, and what your companions are like. They must be wonderful people, right?"
Chopper swung his feet as he asked, his face full of innocent curiosity.
Lin Mo, however, gave him little response.
When Lin Mo said nothing, Chopper looked a little disappointed. "Can't you talk about it? Sorry..."
"You're supposed to be quiet when someone's fishing," Robin's voice suddenly said.
Chopper jumped and ducked into Lin Mo's arms. "I forgot you were still here!"
Lin Mo glanced at Robin.
Leaning against a nearby railing, Robin smiled at Chopper. "Children who don't behave make excellent bait."
"Bait? What kind of bait?" Chopper asked, blinking.
"Fishing bait, for example. Someone your size should be able to catch a big shark."
"F-fishing bait? Me?" Chopper's fur stood on end. He
