Doron collected his thoughts, turned to Kuta, and asked, "I hear you'd like to order a medium-sized sailing ship. What are you looking for?"

"Have a seat. Let's talk."

Kuta sat down on the sofa and took a sip of tea.

Once Doto had taken a seat across from him, Kuta said, "We don't have many requirements. There's just one thing we absolutely need."

"What's that?"

"It has to be sturdy enough."

Kuta relaxed against the back of the sofa and smiled at Doto. "Since you know who we are, you must know where we're headed."

"A ship that isn't tough enough won't last long sailing those waters."

He lowered his hand. "And I don't want to keep replacing ships."

"Mm."

Doto nodded and rubbed his chin, thinking.

Of course he knew where Kuta and his crew were going. They would need a tough ship to sail there.

An ordinary ship could navigate those waters, but the weather and huge waves could easily tear it apart.

And someone of Kuta's standing clearly wouldn't commission an ordinary ship.

With that in mind, Doto looked up at him. "Our shipyard can certainly build a vessel sturdy enough for those waters."

"Over the years, the Carter Company has built countless ships, many of which have gone to the New World. We can build what you're looking for."

"Mm. I believe you."

Kuta nodded.

The photos on the wall told him enough. Most of the ships pictured there had been commissioned by pirates.

And for ships commissioned by pirates, the final destination was bound to be the New World.
