Although this Marine commodore had only appeared on screen for a few seconds, and although he was weak, there was no doubt that he was a true Marine who represented most of the Marines—not Nezumi.

All this might have sounded like pointless rambling, but some things had to be explained.

He had spared the Marines because, in his perception, they truly were people who upheld justice. He

was not some impulsive, hot-blooded teenager. Across his two lives, he was nearly fifty years old. He could not react to everything as rashly as a young man would. Slaughtering someone's entire family over a disagreement was something a hotheaded kid might do, not him.

Most importantly, sparing the Marines had no effect on him, and might even save many civilians. Why wouldn't he?

As for pirates, he had never actually considered himself one.

Even though the World Government had put a bounty on him, the Marines had branded him a notorious pirate, and the whole world thought he was a pirate, he still did not consider himself one.

Sometimes, if you did not stand by your convictions, you really would become what everyone believed you to be.

And now his persistence had paid off.

At least Indigo understood his beliefs and knew what he had been standing by all along.

Even if it was only Kuina and Indigo, he was still happy.

After all, although the term "adventurer" existed in this world, there was not a single genuine Adventure Crew. What he wanted was to create this world's first Adventure Crew.

He would do it through strength, and through deeds.

Once more and more people recognized them, he might even establish an organization of Adventure Crews, separating them completely from the ranks of pirates.
