Dawn slipped through a gap in the curtains and fell across the handsome face of the man asleep beside the window.

A smile rested on his lips, as though he were dreaming of something wonderful.

His smile faded. His eyelids fluttered, then slowly opened, revealing eyes as azure as a starry sky.

They had reached Jaya Island at sunset yesterday. Instead of going to Mock Town, they had picked a quiet stretch of coast to anchor and rest.
