Outside the house, Robin looked at Dongze, her eyes full of shock. What had just happened was even harder for her to accept than Dongze's battles against the Four Emperors and at Mary Geoise.

And those two books, Capital and the Communist Manifesto, had nearly brought those people to tears. They had come close to clinging to his legs and refusing to let him leave.

It was a way of thinking they had never encountered before, perhaps more like an impossible dream. Yet they could not help reaching out to touch it, to feel what it might be like.

Dongze had never shown this side of himself before. Robin found the man before her a little unfamiliar now, but she liked him all the more for it.

They had not exchanged a word since setting out on the return trip. Robin quietly worked through her shock as she followed behind Dongze.

"Hey! What are you talking about?"

The door creaked open, and Dongze stepped inside. Seeing Shakky, Shi Xuan, and Kuina deep in conversation, he asked with a smile.

Shakky tapped her cigarette twice against the ashtray and smiled. "Well now! I seem to have learned something remarkable. Didn't we meet a long time ago, Dongze?"

Dongze paused. He glanced at Kuina and Shi Xuan without giving anything away, wondering what Shakky meant.

When he saw the apology in Shi Xuan's expression, he had an idea. But strictly speaking, he had yet to experience any of that, so he gave a wry smile.

"Not yet, I'd say. Maybe we will before long."

The answer was cryptic, but Shakky could tell Dongze was not lying. She nodded hesitantly and asked no more.

"By the way, Shakky, could you prepare some food and fresh water for me? Here's five million Beli as
