A figure in an orange mask and a cloak patterned with red clouds slowly emerged from a Pocket Dimension beside Nagato.

Another figure appeared with him, wearing the same cloak. His face was split into stark halves, one black and one white.

They were two members of the Akatsuki: the man calling himself Madara Uchiha and Zetsu!

"Nagato, I didn't expect you to be defeated so easily."

"And he even discovered the secret of your real body."

"If I'd arrived a moment later, he would have taken the Rinnegan."

Obito spoke to Nagato in astonishment.

White Zetsu had many clones, some of which hid near important people and watched their every move.

So when Rono began fighting the Six Paths of Pain, a White Zetsu clone immediately alerted Obito Uchiha.

Obito had rushed over using Kamui, his Space–Time Ninjutsu.

Only a few minutes could have passed.

And Nagato had lost?

What kind of monster could defeat the Six Paths of Pain in minutes?

"When did someone like him appear in the Ninja World?"

Black Zetsu, who had lived for a thousand years, was just as shocked!

Zetsu's true identity was not what he publicly claimed: a manifestation of Madara Uchiha's will before his death.

He was actually the third child of Kaguya Otsutsuki, the progenitor of Chakra on this planet!

Thousands of years ago, before her two ever-so-filial sons, Hagoromo Otsutsuki and Hamura Otsutsuki, sealed her away together, Kaguya Otsutsuki had given birth to Black Zetsu.

Black Zetsu was an ancient monster who had lived for over a thousand years.

He had existed before there were even ninja on this planet.
