Just then, Nami gripped the railing and shouted, "Everyone, hold on tight! The ship's about to fly into the whirlpool..."
Sure enough, the moment she finished speaking, the ship shuddered again. It broke free of the spinning sea and plunged toward the pitch-black center of the whirlpool.
Terror struck.
The feeling of weightlessness frightened everyone, and they screamed as though they had seen a ghost.
"No! I don't want to die!!"
"It's over! I haven't even gotten married yet, waaah..."
"What the hell are you scared of? I'll be a hero again in eighteen years~~"
"Captain, if there's a next life, I'll work myself to the bone to repay you!!"
"Quit your damn screaming! The Captain's here, so what the hell are you afraid of?"
Boom!
A thunderous crash rang out, sending spray high into the air. The ship rocked, then came to a steady stop on the sea.
The sky remained black as ink, without a trace of sunlight.
The air around them seemed to fall still. There was not a sound, nor even the faintest breeze.
The sea was as smooth and motionless as a mirror.
It was as though time and space had frozen. The atmosphere was eerie.
Everyone froze.
They stared in shock, looking around without quite grasping what had happened.
"Where are we? What just happened?"
Bellamy looked around, astonishment on his face. "Where did the eye of the whirlpool go?"
Bartolomeo nodded in amazement. "We flew into the whirlpool, everything went black, and then we landed here."
"Weird. I don't get it at all. I'm completely lost!"
Burgess scratched his head and looked at Chris in confusion.
"Captain, what's going on? Everyone wants to know. Explain it to us."
As the navigator, Nami was the first to realize what had happened.
She lowered her
