So I finally made it to this strange island beneath Sky Island!

Now that he was here, Adrian was in no hurry to fly straight up. He decided to rest on Jaya Island for a while and ease his mental fatigue.

The sea breeze brushed his face. Adrian spread his arms and stretched.

Just as he was about to set off, a clamor rose behind him.

He turned and saw a midsize three-masted ship flying a black pirate flag. It cut through the waves toward Jaya Island at full speed.

The deck was crowded with people. Most wore black cloth around their heads, and every one of them carried a long blade or a gun and looked ready for a fight.

No question about it. A pirate crew was about to land on Jaya Island!

Adrian calmly studied the emblem painted on their sail.

"Looks a bit like an armored bear? Doesn't ring much of a bell..."

As Adrian tried to recall who these pirates were, several burly men with nasty grins shoved two medium-sized cannons into position and aimed them his way.

A moment later, two thunderous blasts rang out, and a pair of round black cannonballs hurtled toward him.

"No need to remember who they are, then. They fired on an innocent passerby without a second thought, and it doesn't look like this is their first time."

Adrian narrowed his eyes and reached into empty air.

Faint ripples spread through the air as the Cursed Sword Nidai Kitetsu appeared in his hand.

A few pirates aboard the ship, now nearing shore, saw what happened and froze.

Any pirate crew that had made it this far through Paradise knew a thing or two.
