Background and History
Adrian awakens in Sea Circle Calendar 1495 in the body of a World Government war orphan training for CP9. His earlier memories are incomplete, but he recognizes the One Piece world and learns from his game panel that players are due to arrive. Badly injured and initially weak, he discovers that reading and repeated practice can unlock professions and earn experience. He hides the pace of his growth from his instructors 1 2.
After two years on the training island, Adrian is assigned to support fellow trainee Dawson on a West Blue field mission. He spends his stored experience before departure, then abandons the assignment at Xilian Island. He defeats Dawson and instructor Kumadori Yamamba but spares them, asking them to report him dead rather than draw attention to his escape 4 5 6 7.
In the West Blue, Adrian eats the Hollow-Hollow Fruit and builds a reputation through fights with pirates and criminal groups. After destroying the Capone Gang, he arranges for Tommy Shelby to build a trading organization that becomes the Shelby Company and Razor Gang. He later sells supplies, quests, and instruction to arriving players, gaining money and experience from their purchases 11 22 23 36 37.
His swordsmanship advances through extensive study and dojo challenges. In the East Blue, Shimotsuki Koshiro helps him understand the Breath of All Things and teaches him Ryuo. Adrian subsequently defeats Chinjao and acquires the Armament Haki trait Black Jade 29 43 44 45 48 49.
Appearance
Adrian begins as a fair-skinned, black-haired, black-eyed boy of about thirteen, standing roughly 1.5 meters tall. Six months of training adds more than twenty centimeters to his height. The Well-Built specialty later gives him a heavily muscled physique, which he dislikes 1 3 4 28.
- Dress: Wears a white shirt, black tailcoat, top hat, and boots for his field assignment; later appears in suits or sword-training robes 5 29 30.
- Accessories: Wears black-framed glasses during his swordsmanship studies on Ohara 29.
Personality
Adrian values independence and plans carefully. He conceals his rapid improvement during CP9 training, refuses to remain in World Government service, and later turns down Marine recruitment because he dislikes being bound by rules 2 6 25.
He is playful and often theatrical, but he also treats combat, study, and system resources pragmatically. He seeks stronger opponents for experience and rewards, studies unfamiliar abilities before committing to a tactic, and uses public displays of swordsmanship to attract player customers 18 26 28 38.
