Naturally, a nation that revered beauty had to banish everything "unbeautiful" from within its borders.
And so Gray Terminal had come into being.
As the region that housed the entire nation's "unbeautiful" things, Gray Terminal was more commonly called the "Great Garbage Dump" within the Goa Kingdom.
At that moment, three boys had gathered in the Great Garbage Dump.
Freckle-faced Ace in a red short-sleeved shirt and brown trousers; the little noble Sabo in a black top hat and blue coat; and...
Luffy, who kept shouting that he was hungry, wanted to find Grandpa, and was hungry again.
"Ace, who's this guy?"
Sabo gave Luffy a slightly wary look. Although he sensed no danger from this goofy little boy, his noble upbringing had taught him to be sensitive to such things from an early age.
"His name's Luffy. Grandpa brought him to the island today!"
Ace glanced at Luffy in frustration, then vigorously scratched his own head. Those little gestures made his foul mood plain to see.
"I wasn't planning to bring this dead weight along, but... Uncle Bullet dumped him on me! Seriously, Dadan's obviously better suited to looking after kids this age!"
Clearly, blood relation or not, Dadan was the Monkey Family's designated babysitter.
Young Luffy didn't notice the two older boys' attitudes at all. He couldn't even tell where he was—in fact, even after growing up, he would still struggle with that.
