Obito patted Jiraiya's hand and spoke earnestly.
"Lord Jiraiya, have you ever considered settling down for good?"
"Settling down?"
Jiraiya drained his cup of sake and laughed heartily.
"A man's ambitions should reach far and wide, and he should make himself at home wherever he goes. Why would I settle down?"
Obito laughed along with him.
"Hahahahaha!"
Ever since he had impersonated Madara Uchiha, then challenged Madara Uchiha himself...
He had found himself especially fond of laughing, as though something inside him had finally been unblocked!
"Lord Jiraiya, there's something you once said that I really love."
"Wherever someone is thinking of you, that's where you belong."
"Now that you've given your heart to someone, why not move closer to her?"
Jiraiya spoke through a drunken haze.
"You little rascal, you certainly have a way with words when you're trying to persuade someone."
"The Shinobi World still isn't at peace. How could I spare a thought for that...?"
Obito shook his head.
"Lord Jiraiya, that's where you're wrong."
"My fellow disciples and I will change the Shinobi World now. Why should you still have to worry about it?"
"Just settle down and enjoy life with Princess Tsunade. You're not that old yet—you could even have a child."
Jiraiya promptly choked on his sake and began coughing violently.
"Cough, cough, cough! You really will say anything!"
Obito grinned broadly. "You bet!"
Technically speaking, Lady Tsunade and I are peers now.
What's wrong with saying a few words?
Besides, even if she heard me, she couldn't land a hit on me. Haha!
After they finished another round of drinks, Obito offered to take Jiraiya home.
But Jiraiya waved his hand and declined.
He said he wanted to linger in this haven of feminine comfort a little longer.
