Quagsire (Thanks, everyone!)

Zubat squeaked excitedly at the layer of earth ahead.

"Phew..."

Dian sighed in relief. He had finally found it. He could already see light above, but that was precisely why he couldn't go that way.

Putting himself in their shoes, would he leave no traps behind if he knew someone was pursuing him? Of course not!

Without even waiting for Dian's instructions, Miss Misdreavus would have staked the rest of her Trainer's life on there being a trap above. That meant someone else would get to prank her if she went out that way.

So she used Shadow Sneak to pierce the earth ahead, traced a circle, then pulled hard from the inside out. A deep cavern immediately opened before them, just as pitch-black, and a cold, clammy breeze swept over them.

Yet Dian found that breeze especially comforting. At last, he could get out from underground.

He stepped onto the cavern floor and walked forward.

A faint glow flickered as a clear underground river burbled along, winding into the distance.

Dian was sitting on a natural stone platform, dividing up Pokéblocks for his Pokémon.

They were already a long way from their previous location, and an exit to the outside lay not far away.

The water in this underground river had to be very clean. It was probably even safe to drink straight from it.

Why did he think so? Because a pair of adorably vacant eyes was staring straight at him and hadn't looked away once since earlier.

A blue body, purple markings on its back, and a pair of silly black eyes—it was a Quagsire, capable of giving Psyduck a run for its money.

Its target was the Poké Balls in his backpack. He had only taken them out for a quick wipe earlier,
