Dian did not know which model of coexistence worked best across the different regions. Ho-Oh's carefree approach appealed to him more, though. After all, Ho-Oh had only burned down a tower, revived three legendary beasts, then vanished into the sky.

He took out the box that had once held the Xerneas Stone and placed the Dark Power Beedrill had collected inside. Then he sealed the box in a Poké Ball with exceptionally strong containment and entrusted it to Beedrill.

Dian gave the Maiden Statue one last look before turning away. What a shame. If he had a private research institute of his own, he would have loved to take her with him.

Whether it was his research into Misdreavus's Evolution, his experiments creating Mega Stones, Tyranitar's growth to gigantic size, the construction of an energy reactor, or his analysis of Beedrill's Nightmare Power, all of it would be best done in a private research facility that belonged entirely to him.

Besides, as he acquired more and more Pokémon, he could not keep boarding them at other people's homes.

"Looks like it's time to pick a place to build a research institute," Dian mused.

He planned to begin with the simplest experiment. The initial stage did not demand much of the surroundings. As long as he kept the Dark Power tightly controlled, there would be little danger.

Rather than fly away from the Arlaso Mountains, the two of them headed deeper into the range, far from any human settlement.

The site had to be suitable for experiments, with materials easy to gather nearby.
