Dian opened his eyes and realized he had fallen asleep at some point—on a pair of soft legs, no less.

He brushed aside his long black hair, and a handkerchief reached over to wipe the sweat from his brow. "Maw!"

Mawile narrowed her ruby-red eyes and tilted her head with a ladylike smile. Blue light flashed in her hand, and the handkerchief, warmed by his sweat, turned cool again. It felt wonderful.

"Thanks, Mawile."

"Maw."

Mawile shook her head. After wiping his brow once more, she obediently settled back into her seat.

The great jaws behind her stayed still, but a refreshing Fairy Wind spread through the carriage.
