It had originally been a mining city dedicated to gathering rare resources for the Unova League.
But in modern times, a new generation of Trainers focused on unlocking Pokémon's own potential had risen to become the mainstream. With that, Luoxiang, the once-important "Diamond Star City," had truly fallen into slumber, becoming a remote backwater left behind by the times.
Even though a new generation of Luoxiang residents had worked tirelessly through sweeping reforms, bringing light back to their gloomy world and revitalizing its murky, stagnant waters, opening underground channels to connect with the sea beyond the snowy mountains and making the city crystal clear and brimming with life.
They had completely abandoned and buried the underground railways, filled in the foundations, and even built symbols of the age—towering buildings and suspended bridges—turning the city into something like a pearl in a remote region.
Unfortunately, that pearl had remained covered in dust all along, with pitifully few people in the city.
The Pokémon Center had empty rooms year-round, and the Battle Arena saw only fights that amounted to little more than playing around.
Though the sea and sky looked as vivid as a painting, it lacked the most essential thing: people!
Without people, a city had no circulation. Sooner or later, it would lose its vitality and become an empty city abandoned in the past.
Only, in the past, outsiders had abandoned it. This time, it might well be the people of Luoxiang themselves.
Such were the times. Such was development. People's hearts brimmed not only with prosperity, but also uncertainty and helplessness.
Yet today, when Nurse Joy at the Pokémon Center opened her window, her eyes immediately widened. "What happened?!"
An enormous line had actually formed outside the Pokémon Center. This was
