Dian walked to the lakeshore and looked down. The water was pitch-black, its depths impossible to see.
By now, the moonlight had all but vanished. Visibility was nothing like it had been during the battle.
He sighed helplessly. There really was no chance. Forget catching a stray Luvdisc; he probably wouldn't even find a Heart Scale. No wonder the Ranger had left so readily. She had likely figured out the Luvdisc's habits completely.

A man and a woman dressed in black night clothes emerged from the woods to Dian's right.
"...No, I just had a sudden bout of childish fantasy and wanted to play the hero of a TV show I've been obsessed with lately."

Silence fell. The two figures in black froze, at a loss for words.
Dian studied them. He couldn't make out their faces, but judging by their voices, one was a man and the other a woman.
He frowned.
