"King Arthur is going to be resurrected? That's definitely a surprise..." Roland paused. "But does it really call for all this?"

"You may not realize how powerful my king will be with that Magic Circle behind her," Merlin said. "Put it this way: even if our alien friend here agrees to help, I'm not entirely sure I can stop her."

"She's that strong?" Roland thought for a moment. "It wouldn't be those British people who want to leave Europe bringing her back, would it? Once King Arthur returns, won't she start by slaughtering the Anglo-Saxon barbarians in England?"

"...Knowing Arthur, that's quite possible," Merlin said with a nod. "And she won't stop there. She'll want to conquer the world."

"I looked into it. The nuns on that island are all descendants of the Celts, and their mages' family trees go back to the time of King Vortigern," Batman said. "They've wanted to leave Europe for a long time."

"I'd only just been born back then." Merlin gave Batman an approving look. "This descendant of Sir Gawain is sharp. Good thing he found me through Justin, or we might not have discovered this in time..."

"No need to thank me. It's what I should do," Batman said with a nod.

"So we're figuring out how to fight King Arthur?" Roland asked.

"Yes. First we gather intelligence, then we work out a plan."

"The magical fluctuations over there are too intense. They interfered with the reconnaissance spells I sent out," Merlin said, a little embarrassed. "For now, we'll have to use scientific means to see what's happening in England."

"You mean satellites?" Roland asked.

"I hacked a military satellite to monitor the island, but all it shows is a mass of black fog covering it," Batman said.
