"Neither had I," Wonder Woman said. "That happened in ancient times. I only heard about it from others. Darkseid was only eight back then, but he nearly destroyed Earth. Zeus, the King of Atlantis, and the Amazon Queen held him back together, allowing Ares, empowered by war, to wound him."

"That doesn't sound all that strong." Considering Ares's combat strength, Batman felt Darkseid couldn't be that impressive either.

"Darkseid had started a universe-wide war then, and the power Ares drew from it was terrifying. Even Zeus wasn't as strong as him," Wonder Woman said. "He was nothing like he is now."

"All right, but isn't it a little early for us to worry about an invasion from Apokolips?" Merlin asked.

"Darkseid might come knocking in a few years." Roland shook his head.
