The restaurant's servers were already used to this. They deftly brought him milk and a pair of pants, then quickly cleaned the floor.

"...Spectacular," Roland remarked.

Just then, another group of middle schoolers walked in. A girl with curly blue hair warned, "It's not too late to back out."

"I didn't put on all these disposable underpants for nothing." A green-haired boy looked utterly fearless.

"Another expert?" All three turned toward the green-haired boy.

"Yo, isn't that Garfield?" The earlier group of students started cheering. "Come over here, Garfield! We saved you a seat!"

Garfield sat right down, and a server brought him a ghost pepper and a glass of milk.

"A Carolina Reaper? They're playing for keeps." Even Batman was shocked. This was the hottest pepper in the world,

comparable to police pepper spray.

"I hear this thing is hundreds of thousands of times hotter than Chongqing hot pot base. If you take a bite, will your ass even survive?" Roland sucked in a cold breath.

"Let's see who can win this plate of ribs." Head Chef Gus walked over, carrying a plate of ribs and sporting a great bushy white beard.

"Thanks, Gus. Could you swap my milk for water?" Garfield asked.

"Milk helps more with the heat," Gus said, handing Garfield a pair of gloves. "Put these on. Touch a Carolina Reaper directly, and your hands will feel like they're on fire. Remember not to rub your eyes."

"Or go to the bathroom," Roland added.

The people around them had already taken out their phones, ready to record this rare spectacle.

"Considering all the possible outcomes, do we really need to film this?" Garfield asked hesitantly, holding the pepper by its stem.

"Ha! I knew he wouldn't dare."

"I told you he'd back out in the end."
