"How rude—" The Scorpion King's hands transformed into enormous pincers and swung at Wonder Woman's head.

Wonder Woman said nothing. She conjured a spiked mace from her divine power and smashed it viciously into the Scorpion King's pincers, driving him back several steps. Blue-green blood spilled from his mouth.

Realizing he was in trouble, the Scorpion King immediately used the Reach technology in his scarab to conceal himself, preparing to fight Wonder Woman with hit-and-run attacks.

"Oh, he can turn invisible too?" Batman released his Observation Haki and discovered that the Scorpion King had concealed not only his body but his presence as well. "It's useless." Wonder Woman raised her sword to the sky, and flames surged from her body like ocean waves.

Scorched by the flames, the Scorpion King was forced back into view. He lashed his scorpion tail at Wonder Woman.

"It's over, Luthor." Amid an aura of savage fury, an enormous sword made of flames came roaring down at the Scorpion King.

"That kill's mine!" Roland shouted. The wind blade in his hand turned into a streak of blue-green light, taking the Scorpion King's life before Wonder Woman could.

"—Do you have a grudge against Luthor?" Batman was thoroughly puzzled. Roland shouldn't have had any conflict with Luthor, so why had he rushed to kill him?

"Not that I remember." Luthor's scalp prickled. He certainly didn't want Roland targeting him. The consequences would probably be grim.

"No, I was just worried Wonder Woman might be controlled by the God of War's power. We have The Merciless as a precedent, after all. We can't be too careful." Roland acted as though he only had Wonder Woman's best interests at heart.
